Downtime at Work
I work at a large company with some 45,000 employees. Last Thursday morning all internal systems shut down, globally.
This includes email, the internet connection at the office, the intranet, our Git server, our login portal, and many more crucial systems. The IT department has probably been working around the clock to resolve the issues, just now starting some of our email servers. Yeah, today's Monday, four days later.
I was chatting with a colleague stationed at her customer's office, telling her about our lack of internet connection.
"I suppose this means you guys are having lots of coffee", she said.
"You'd think, but actually, this is affecting all of our internal systems", I said. "The coffee machine isn't working either."
